There's a specific kind of fun in laying a ski over on a fresh groomer and feeling it carry you across the whole trail. The Montero AR is built for skiers who chase that feeling, a GS-inspired carver that's been tuned to be enjoyed all day long, not just on the first fast run after the lifts open.

AR stands for All-mountain Race, and it's the widest and longest-turning ski in the Montero line. A light poplar and beech core sandwiched between two full sheets of Titanal gives it the smooth, damp ride Stöckli is known for, while Tip and Tail Flex cutouts and a mild All Mountain Rocker keep turn entry clean. At 84 mm underfoot, it's wide enough to stay composed in chopped-up snow, spring slush, and the occasional detour off the groomer.

GS-inspired shape that rewards long, carved arcs with near-race edge hold

Two full Titanal layers for a quiet, planted ride at speed

Responsive at moderate speeds, so it doesn't need to be pushed to come alive

Best for advanced to expert skiers who love holding a long, carved turn on groomers, want stability and edge grip at speed, and still want a ski that handles variable snow and mixed frontside conditions.

General Specs

Core: Light Core - lighter poplar stringers paired with denser beech for a mix of energy, stability, and rebound.

Construction: Sandwich construction with full sidewalls for direct power transfer and impact resistance.

Reinforcements: Two full Titanal layers above and below the core, with Tip and Tail Flex cutouts in the upper sheet.

Rocker Profile: Rocker / Camber / Rocker - All Mountain Rocker with a mild rise in the tip and tail and plenty of camber underfoot for grip and rebound.

Base: Sintered race base for fast glide and good wax retention.

Waist Width: 84 mm (128 / 84 / 114 mm)

Turning Radius: 17.3 m (180 cm)

Available Lengths: 165, 170, 175, 180, 185 cm

Key Features

Double Titanal Construction: Full sheets of Titanal above and below the core add damping and torsional stiffness, so the ski stays quiet and locked in when speeds climb or snow gets firm.

Tip and Tail Flex: Shaped cutouts in the Titanal at the shovel and tail soften the ends of the ski for smoother turn initiation and a clean, predictable release.

Adaptive Contact Length (ACL): Edge contact increases as you tip the ski further on edge, keeping it manageable at lower angles and fully engaged when you lay it over.

Full Edge Contact (FEC): The widest points of the ski are positioned to lengthen the contact area when edged, for quicker engagement and strong grip through the whole arc.

84 mm Waist + Long Radius: A 17.3 m radius (180 cm) loves sustained, carved turns, and the 84 mm waist adds stability in chop and spring snow.

Solid Metal Edge Light: Full-thickness edges with thinner insertion tabs, saving weight without giving up grip or durability.
